Appvion Paper will be changing their dye composition on Alpha 400 2.1 and 2.3 grades effective the week of January 22, 2018. They have decided to mix a BLUE dye with the BLACK dye that is in short supply to try to increase production yields.
They will no longer be offering the BLACK only paper that the industry is used to seeing in the 2.1 and 2.3 grades only. The BLUE/BLACK paper will have a slight Blue tint and the image will also have a Bluish look to it. At this time we are being told that the imaging and quality will not be compromised.
