As a valued customer, we want to provide as much transparency as possible, regarding the Thermal Paper Markets.
We have been notified of a Global shortage of Direct Thermal Paper. There are 2 main reasons for this issue.
1. Global Demand for Direct Thermal Paper is Increasing
2. A raw material supplier of an essential die, used to make the direct thermal coating, has been closed for the time being. The company, Connect Chemicals, in China has been temporarily closed to address environmental issues. This is expected to last at least 3 months.
We have been notified by our suppliers that we will continue to receive our papers, based on last year’s average usage. However, deliveries of the paper are expected to be pushed out longer than normal.
Unfortunately, we have also been told that pricing is expected to increase very rapidly and all increases will be taking effect immediately.
At this time, we do not have any idea of how many increases to expect or the amount of the increases.
Please take time to educate your clients on the market conditions and allow more time for future orders to be produced.
