Koehler to hike thermal paper prices 4%, cut allocations 11-12% in 4Q

OAKLAND, CA, July 31, 2018 (RISI) – Citing “greater than expected” raw material cost pressure, thermal papermaker Koehler set a 4% price increase on the entire basis weight range of its KTFA grades, effective with Oct. 1 shipments.

At the same time, Koehler letter that its thermal paper manufacturing system faces production constraints that will minimize fourth quarter shipments, and as a result volume availability will need to be cut by 11-12% for all customers compared with third quarter allocations.

The firm hopes to restore normalized supply in early 2019, it told customers in a July 31 letter.
